ESTATE CLEANOUT
Clearing out the home of someone you loved is one of the hardest jobs there is. Every drawer has a memory in it. You may live two states away. You may have a closing date, a landlord or a probate deadline. And you may just be tired.
We understand. Nandy’s Junk Removal is a local, woman-owned company from Paxton, and estate cleanouts are work we take seriously. We move at a respectful pace, we ask before anything personal leaves the house, and we try hard to make sure good things go to people who can use them.
An estate cleanout can mean one room or a full house, from the attic down to the basement, plus the garage and the shed out back. We can handle:
We can also move heavy items like a piano if you mention it in advance. We don’t take hazardous materials such as paint, chemicals or propane, and a few oversized items are not accepted.
HOW IT WORKS
Call, text or send photos through nandysjunkremoval.com. If you can't get to the house, a family member, realtor or attorney can show us the property.
We reply with an upfront price and a time, with no hidden fees.
Before we start, tell us what's staying. Family pieces, papers, photos and anything you haven't decided on stay put.
Our uniformed, insured crew arrives on time and works room by room. If we come across photos, letters, jewelry or documents, we set them aside for you.
Usable furniture and household goods go toward donation. Metal, appliances and electronics go to recycling. The rest goes to proper disposal.
We leave the home empty and swept. Payment by card, cash or digital method is due when the job is done.
You don’t have to be there for every minute. You also don’t have to rush. Some families want it done in a day. Others want to go room by room over a few visits. Both are fine with us.
Nobody wants Mom’s good dining set to end up in a dumpster. When we do an estate cleanout, we sort items that still have life in them and send them toward local donation. Massachusetts law helps here, too. Since November 1, 2022, the state has banned mattresses and textiles from the trash, so clothing, bedding and curtains are kept out of landfills and steered to reuse or recycling. Large appliances, scrap metal and old tube TVs have been on the state’s banned list for longer.
If you have specific charities, churches or family members in mind for certain items, tell us. We’ll do our best to work with your plan.
Our region is getting older. Worcester County Insights, which tracks Census survey data for the county, reports that the number of residents aged 60 to 84 rose about 42 percent between the 2008 to 2012 and 2018 to 2022 survey periods. Every town with reliable data saw that age group grow.
In some of the towns we serve, older residents now outnumber kids. Spencer has about 3,900 residents aged 60 to 84 and about 2,300 under 20. Princeton has roughly 1,030 residents aged 60 to 84 and about 760 under 20. West Boylston shows a similar pattern.
That means more families handling a parent’s home, more downsizing moves into smaller places, and more houses going to market after a long life in one place. It also means more people looking for an estate cleanout company they can trust.
LOCAL KNOW-HOW
Worcester is home to more than 206,000 people, and many estates here are in older homes and triple-deckers with full basements and attics. City residents can book bulk drop-offs at the Millbury Street center, but only by appointment and usually only from April through November. For a full house, that can mean dozens of trips. We clear it in one coordinated job.

These are close-knit towns where people often live in the same house for 40 or 50 years. Paxton is our home base. Holden, Rutland and Princeton are minutes away. They share the Wachusett Watershed Regional Recycling Center in West Boylston with Sterling, West Boylston and Boylston, a nonprofit-run spot focused on reuse.
Shrewsbury, with about 38,000 residents, uses a sticker system for bulky items, $15 per item with curbside pickup scheduled through Casella, and mattresses must be handled separately. Auburn’s special item pickup runs $80 per item, with size and weight limits. A full estate would cost a lot in stickers and appointments alone.

Spencer and Leicester have deep mill-town roots and plenty of long-held family homes. Sterling and West Boylston, each just under 8,000 people, are quiet towns where estates often include barns, sheds and outbuildings full of tools and equipment. We clear those too.
